After making Lego Jaws set last week, I made time over the last three days to make this one. It's not cheap to buy, but there's no question about how much enjoyment is had with building it. Lots of moving and working parts, including a V6 motor under the top canopy that has exposed cylinder heads and you can see the pistons moving up and down as you manually crank the engine. In addition, there is a two-speed (plus neurtral) gearbox and a working differential for the rear-driven wheels. Real rubber pneumatric tyres that are almost the diameter of my palm. And if all of that wasn't enough, then a mechanically working steering system is also in play. Twiddle a small knob that sits above the driver's headrest and car-camera position and you will be actuating the steering of the front wheels.
Overall, I didn't run into too many obstacles that tripped me up on the build. But one or two illustrations were not detailed well enough and perhaps an additional close-up image (from a different angle) might have offered better clarity. Just keep in mind that there are some small rotational pieces that might be in a slightly angled position, rather than parralel. Just remember to take your time and observe each picture closely.
Whatever your experience, enjoy the journey. Know that everything goes together with a reassuring Lego click that offers your sensors the level of satisfaction that all things built takes time and patience. Enjoy it like you're that master craftsman who built a…
