LEGO® ICONS™ Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter

This is the first lego set I've ever bought/had.

I purchased this after watching the Dune movies as I'm a big fan of sci-fi vehicles, and had to have this one.

I built this using the lego building app which is FANTASTIC, I had absolutely no issues following the instructions and the visual guides assisted greatly. The building process was very fun and went smoothly, I had the whole thing built in around 9.5 hours at a relatively fast pace (with a 30 minute break inbetween.) I was building at a pace which I had fun with, rather than doing a speedrun.

The finished product is amazing, the ability to extend/retract the landing gear and the lever to move the blades adds a really nice finishing touch.

I am probably going to buy another one as I feel they look better in pairs. I might buy the 3rd party light kit for the second one too. The figurines are cool but I didn't really have interest in those so I keep them safe in the lego box.

I feel like this set is one of those must-haves for your collection, and I feel it's priced very well too.

This was a lot of fun to put together.. and those blades are sooo big! I was a little disappointed that there was no stand for all those figures (especially as they dont go in the Ornithopter)... but nothing a quick 3D print couldn't fix.

Definitely recommend picking this up!
